Fragrant
Carissa Macrocarpa is native to South Africa, but has adapted well to both Florida and California where it can tolerate the salt air near the coast. It is lush and tropical appearing, with a beautiful contrast between the white blossoms and the dark green foliage. The fragrance, which is similar to jasmine, is more pronounced in the evening. I caught this in a lovely, shady spot on an otherwise sunny and very warm morning.
