What's That Grain?

Church camp - day 3

Amanda and I went swimming in the morning, and then after lunch we went with some others from the church to Gunsgreen House, designed by John Adam for John Nisbet in the 1750s. It overlooks the beach at Eyemouth, and contains many secrets: John Nisbet was a smuggler! We had fun exploring and learning a bit more about how extreme the taxes were at the time, leading many people to get involved in smuggling everyday goods.

Later on, Amanda and I went for a walk along the cliffs towards St. Abbs. We tried to guess the different grains in the fields; luckily when we got back to the caravan we could ask our dad, because he knows a bit more about farming than us!
