Stripes

Really quite a miserable day.

Spent some of the morning in the library to get the girls out of the house and lo and behold two of Alexander McCall-Smith books that I had not yet read were standing on the shelf waiting for me.

So what better to do in the afternoon when I got some time off the kids than to curl up under the stripes and read some delightful fiction. I can see him chuckle at his desk writing about vegetarian dogs and a "building that one would like to sit down and have tea with." (Corduroy Mansions, Alexander McCall-Smith). Just an easy and very enjoyable read.

In the evening the dynamics for going to bed for the girls changed quite a bit with the biggest away on a sleepover and the middle one therefore becoming the oldest.
