... Thoughts

Because they knew each other's thoughts, they even quarrelled without speaking.”
― Bruce Chatwin, On The Black Hill

What a great day. This is more like it. Sun shining, few clouds, no humidity - perfect. Himself does the shopping in Bantry on a friday, market day, and I decided to come in for the craic. While he laboured in Super Valu amongst the old ladies and muzak, I swanned around sampling olives, tasting slivers of cheese, admiring little leather bags from Rahajastan, and slippers from Morocco, smelling homemade soaps from France and a browsing through a huge and enticing selection of second hand books. Everyone one was in such a good mood - I was plied with freebies - fat bulbs of garlic and the last tub of Irish buffalo ricotta cheese.
The world and his wife were in, lots of stopping to chat and lots of opportunity for sneaky people watching. These two old boys were putting the world to right in the little shelter - not quarrelling, not even silently.

Freshly made burekas ( filo pastry stuffed with spinach and feta) and raspberry sorbet ice for lunch.
Back home time for a swim. Himself came too! I was amazed, and he swam twice. It was heavenly. We were the only ones in the water. We swam, lounged, swam again. Home and I pulled the onions and bunged in the leeks, by which time another swim was needed. Life in the fast lane.
