Turning and whirling

Stopped near Tekapo to photo the mountains when I caught this flock circling, wheeling and turning. Think they are gulls or Terns. There were lots more than this. The mountains have some faces white with the new snow, while any face that gets the sun has lost all the snow.
Makes strong and unusual contrasts.
