The Flying Scotsman
(backblip)
Yet another day of trains :-)
Today we were at NRM Shildon.
The last time we were here was 1998, when son #1 was 2 and son#2 was a 7month bump! On that occassion the Shildon branch of the NRM was little more than a row of cottages and one engine shed.
Today it is a large site that covers a huge display hanger, a railway walk, play areas AND the cottages and other engine sheds and display areas.
After a pleasant morning spent taking arty pics of random bits of engine, and excellent sausage sandwiches in the cafe , son#1 decided that since Beamish was less than an hour away we should head there.
So off we went - got there just in time for "last entry" and had a couple of hours looking at "The Town" ... back tomorrow with our "get you in for a year" tickets :D
