Apologies for almost zero commenting yesterday but there was a building-regs-related family crisis yesterday (and it's not often you get to say that, luckily!). I think I mentioned some weeks back that the firstborn and partner were in the process of moving house, they were actually supposed to be exchanging contracts yesterday and possibly 'flitting' today....that was until their solicitor threw a spanner in the works yesterday morning, telling them that a 20+ year old loft conversion in the 'new' house had never had a final certificate issued (something I think he should have realised weeks ago and definitely told the firstborn about maybe?) Well, to cut a long story short, it was lucky that the purchasers and vendors were speaking to each other in person because the solicitors had a telephonic 'falling out' and the whole chain (of 4 deals in total) could potentially have collapsed......fingers crossed the signing stuff will happen today.....

So, most of my yesterday was fielding calls from a distraught (and tearful) firstborn while researching boring and expensive things like regularisation certificates.....I also discovered along the way that my house (circa 1880's) is well-and-truly 'illegal' in so, SO many ways;-)

EDIT: The saga continues, their solicitor is an utter w****r, there's still 4 families in limbo due to his incompetance......sorry, I'm still distracted......
