Basking Shark Fin
A stunning day of sunshine and now at night, the mist is rolling in from the sea!
Quite a busy day in the museum, even with the fine day but we did have some bairns workshops on.
After work, it was straight out into the sunshine and the best way for that is off on the boat for a run. Tried some fishing again but still no mackerel about! Plenty of birds, Neesicks (porpoises) and a basking shark. After that I went for a walk around the isle of Hildasay. On the way back, the boat suffered some fuel problems and I had to phone a friend Robert Duthie for a tow back to the marina, many thanks to him :)
Off out on the sea and this massive basking shark was feeding. I got the boat close to him and as he was coming straight for the boat, he turned and vanished under water before I got a shot of him feeding with his mouth open. Taken at the back of Oxna isle.
