Big Boy And Little Boy

MrQ was out early this morning tending his toms before it got too hot. He presented me with these two when he brought my tea to me in bed.

He says the big ugly one is Big Boy. I disagree, we used to grow beefsteak F1 hybrid Big Boy to sell to our customers. It's big but not ugly. We had two prices, one for hybrids and one for open pollinated. The customers used to swap the labels so we developed a colour-coded pot system.

Lots of tomato talk today as my sister has finished her history of the family home. My granny who took over the business from Tommy Smith would be proud.

I took big ugly tom to the care home and Mother was delighted. We had to parade it along the street in Tillingham. :)
