Works continue at Delft railway station

This monumental building in Neo-Dutch Renaissance architecture was realised in 1884-1885... it served 130 years as Delft's railway station on the railline Amsterdam - Rotterdam that's realised in the 40-ies of the 19th Century... 170 years ago.

The building survived the plans of restructuring the railway passage at Delft and its station's building; for the rails tunnels have been built and the entrance to the station will be all new as well ~ this monumental building that's now still in use as the railway station, will soon be out of that 'job' and a new position must be found for her:)

5 Years ago NS (= dutch railways) had works started at Delft's railway section for doubling the railway lines running from Rotterdam via Delft and Den Haag up to Leiden and thus renew and enlarge the railway stations of the cities as well ~ Delft is in progress, Rotterdam reopened last March and Leiden a few years ago.
