Domestic Goddess

Well, here goes, my first entry. Have been a busy bee in the kitchen today, making various edible treats for my forever hungry children, including banana muffins (pictured.)

Have had a rather uneventful day all in all. Watched the storm clouds in the distance this afternoon. Jacob (aged 4) was a little concerned at the imminent possibility of a storm. "When the lightning comes we will all be dead." He took a little convincing otherwise.

Enjoying the last few days with the children before the onslaught of the new academic year. I feel well rested but not ready for the inevitable madness. Where has the 8 weeks gone?

I had a few tears in my eyes this afternoon after reading an article about a girl I teach in the North and South Magazine. What an amazing inspiration she is. Aged 7 she was mauled by a dog in a park. The right side of her face had extensive injuries and she has since had around 14 operations. What a happy, friendly girl she is (now 14.) She lives life to the full and has a lovely warm personality, a real inspiration for us all.

Well, that's that. My first entry complete. Will go and have a cuppa and relax.
