Mother and Child

This beautiful wood carving hangs at the Monastery of the Blessed Sacrament in Farmington Hills, MI. The monastery is home to Cloistered Dominican Nuns, many of whom do not leave the building. Tonight, the sisters offered a meeting room to a gathering of the local Knights of Columbus. While we were there I got a glimpse if a stunning mosaic of the crucifixion that was unfortunately out of bounds for visitors and too far away to photograph with my phone.
