Chiemsee...

A trip down to Chiemsee today with boat trips out to Herrenchiemsee and Frauenchiemsee. Fantastic views over to the Alps.

Herrenchiemsee is home to one of Kind Ludwig II's palaces. It is modelled on Versailles but is only part finished as he ran out of money. Very striking especially the contrast when walking between the finished and unfinished parts.

Frauenchiemsee is a smaller island home to a convent retreat and restaurants and gardens.

A wonderful day out finished off with good fun and laughter in the evening...
