Taylor Dam Stream

My favourite places for discovering suitable subject matter for blipping invariably involve water. Thus this morning I made a quick trip to the Taylor Dam for a little photography. We were enjoying a brilliant winter day with a clear blue sky this morning. This is my winter view of the Taylor River looking immediately upstream from the Dam outlet. The Taylor River flows down from hills to the south of the dam. It has a large catchment which catches huge amounts of run-off during storm events, particularly from the southeast quarter. This is why the Taylor Dam exists. It is a flood retention dam.
There is a small stream running into the Taylor River just to the right in this view. It is water draining directly from the lake at the dam. The area looks very different at this time of the year compared with when the surrounding trees are green with their summer leaves.
