A genuine snitch

One of the originals from the Harry Potter film. There are props and hero-props so I discovered. Your average prop may appear in the background, or in the distance or whatever. A hero prop is the detailed special version used in close ups. Here is the snitch, made partly from silver and gold, but normally locked away.
