Life in Sunny Dubai

Broadstairs

Found it without too much trouble and G even got us parked for FREE!

What can I say? We went for Morelli's and found that Charles Dickens has a big association with Broadstairs, so after having a quick lunch, we headed to Charles Dickens House which is lovely and quaint and has a fabulous old man looking after it and customers who walk through the doors.

That done and lots of pictures taken, we headed to Morelli's to see the original shop where it all started. They are incredibly popular. The staff - of which there were many - looked like they hadn't stopped for a second since they opened in the morning.

And then we went on a short walkabout to see the town and passed an arcade, so G dived in. We soon found the air-hockey table and had a game. I got thrashed by G but did manage to make a decent comeback. More walking along the coast followed - we took in three bays in the end - Louisa Bay, Viking Bay and Stone Bay. It all looked fabulous in the sunshine but there was definitely a cool breeze which meant the fleece went on for the first time for me.

And now I've been half watching the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow which has been fabulous and the Queen is just about to give her speech. Well done to all my Scottish friends. You have lots of reason to be very proud. :) It's been another great day.
