Indigo Farms

Stopped by here today to buy fresh tomatoes. Their literature says this is a 6th generation farm operation. They combine their produce store with a nursery of many plants, and a bakery area where I bought a slice of tomato pie. It looks like quiche. I am anxious to find out at dinner how it tastes. I bought a fresh tomato that is darker red and called German Johnson. The old lady there said an American soldier ate tomatoes in WWII that were so good he wanted to bring seeds home. The seller told him since his (the soldier's) name was Johnson, and he was getting the seeds in Germany, the variety should be called German Johnson. They are more expensive than regular tomatoes, but the lady gave me a small one as a trial.
