Sheepdrove

What a wonderful day to be on the Ridgeway. A brilliant blue sky hung above the ancient pathway in glorious Berkshire countryside. I drove to Lambourn, where BMW were holding a launch event for the new X4. It was based at Sheepdrove Farm, a remarkable working organic farm combined with an architecturally interesting rural conference centre, housed in a soaring modern interpretation of a Dutch barn. The farm owners also own Neal's Yard Remedies, and the gorgeously scented herbs in the cosmetics are grown on the farm.

Lambourn gets its name from the lambs that were once dipped in the local river. There were so many things I could have blipped, there was a photo at every turn, but this entrance sculpture in front of an ancient sheep dip was irresistible.
