and the way we used to be

The last few days my thoughts were often with the people left behind, the friends and families of the people that died in the plane crash. I cannot imagine what these people must go through, the desperation and frustration. The idea that the remains of their loved ones are so vulnerable, without protection against the heat, nature and even people. It must be very difficult to deal with. It makes me sad, to know these people are grieving and in pain. Soon the world will go back to its normal business, and they are left behind and alone with their sadness.

Today the netherlands are mourning the victims, in many beautiful ways. One of them is the windmills that are placed in 'mourning position', like this one in Nijmegen. A lovely and subtle way of showing respect.
