Under the Dome

Some of the guys from uni and I had a writing day today in the state library. It was great, not only was it nice to get some writing done with other people present, but the state library is beautiful. I’d never been in there before and it’s a lovely old building full of computers, art, people, and believe it or not books. At the top of the third level is a massive reading room which I’ll definitely be blipping again in the future. Above the reading room was this dome, so in the silence of the giant room I snapped a few pics.

Back to the writing, I thoroughly enjoyed having the company of my classmates with me. It was good to talk to people, both about writing and just in general (writing can be a lonely game) but it was also good to find out where they were with their projects and that they were struggling with some of the same issues I’ve been having. Being in the city was helpful too. When searching for ideas it’s a lot easier to pick them from a city full of people, buildings and things happening than my cold and lonely study. Not that the study isn’t without its benefits but that’s why I think I’ll just alternate between the two in the future.

Now I’m at Jono’s, we had soup and a warm white choc and raspberry muffin with cream for dessert. It doesn’t get much better than that.
