I Am Not Lost

Field Guide to Wines

It's funny how quickly you can throw your conservation and animal welfare ideals out the window when faced with two showers per week and an overabundance of protective mama gulls.

I was awoken early, but not early enough, by screeching, and ran to breakfast in time to grab a pancake. More algal diversity and phylogenies. We headed over to the lab to prepare juveniles gull feather samples for a mass spectrometry, and then headed out to collect invertebrates in the inter tidal zone. Lots of crabs, snails, bivalves, urchins, etc.

Another algal diversity lecture, then dinner, and a cruise around the islands. Everyone went to the commons after to study.

Becket had a large chapter about wines and drink recipes in his seashore guide book in lieu of a chapter on on green algae.

I am so tired and smelly. It may rain tomorrow, in which case, I will rinse down, and save my shower for a later date.
