The White Cliffs of Dover
Sprawled across the top of the white cliffs is Dover Castle one of the best Castles I have ever visited. Spent the majority of the day here, stopping at another Shopping Outlet for 30mins on way back plus a drive along the Front & onto the Pier for this view. There was only us & 2 other cars on it...
Back to the pad using the fast route ie via M20 but stopped in Brookland for dinner at The Royal Oak PH, next to which is a most unusual church. Its Tower or Spire is built alongside the church & is built of wood. Legend has it that it once sat on the top of the church but jumped down in surprise & disbelief when it saw that a virgin was being married in the church !! The real reason is because it is constructed on a Marsh the tower or spire would be too heavy & the building would sink.
Very hot day - another good meal...
