Small Heath Butterfly
This pretty little butterfly was making the most of the really hot and sunny day. I had just disturbed a large flock of Lapwings that had gathered at a boggy spot nearby in this rarely visited area There were also Snipe. There were plenty of Meadow Browns and Large Whites, some Blues and the first of the Scotch Argus. At the ponds were four spotted chasers and plenty of assorted damselflies. It was a scorcher of a day!
