Reculver

A long bike ride today - 55 miles around the coastline from Whitstable to Ramsgate and then inland to Canterbury via Sandwich.

I've seen many (better) pictures of the towers at Reculver, but the morning weather was unexpectedly cool and overcast. With time at a premium and only a small camera, there was no chance of a masterpiece!


An imposing landmark, the twin 12th-century towers of the ruined church stand amid the remains of an important Roman 'Saxon Shore' fort and a Saxon monastery.
