The Red Bike
In order to take advantage of the flora and fauna that Florida has to offer, it is really necessary to get off the beaten track. There are many trails open to the hiker or biker among us, and it occurred to me recently, that had I a bike, I could strap my equipment to it, and take to the woods and byways without my person being adorned with photographic paraphernalia. So, for an investment of $30, I have acquired my beautiful red bike, one owner, slightly used. Now, I have not ridden a bike since I was about 12, which is a lot longer ago than I care to reveal here. So, yesterday, I set off for a quick pedal around the neighborhood. Quick being the operative word here, as I was back in less than 15 minutes and had to lie down in a darkened room to recover. Well, right, I am going to have to get fit; this should take me just until the temperatures rise into the 90s and the thought of biking anywhere will bring on mild hysteria.
It is a pretty bike though, in the garage.
