Remembrance

We spent part of this afternoon in this lovely garden, peacefully tucked away between a busy street and the River Itchen. It's the garden of remembrance at a funeral director's where we congregated today with Kate's family for the interment of her grandmother's ashes. The ceremony was reflective and solemn but not sad and afterwards we went round the corner to the pub where we sat in the shade in the garden and caught up with people we haven't seen for months. It was a good afternoon.
