There's a fellow (?) / several ladies (¿) going around the town putting up painted aluminum can pieces with letters on them, spelling out words/messages, at least in my neck of the woods.

I don't know if you have to squint or step back or forward or close either of your eyes to read the message, but I immediately had a mid-1980s flashback involving a row of pale, leggy "musicians" behind a puffy-haired tie-bedecked er "front man"... odd/old, I felt.
