Strütsfoss waterfall - Sturlufljot, East Iceland

Slightly off the beaten track and not on the coach tour circuit, these falls were up a long valley from the farm at Sturlufljot. The falls feed water down one of the two main southern feeder valleys for the Lagafljót lake.

I googled this one, but strangely there is very little about it. It was a very nice walk up the valley and one could have continued up onto the Hraun plateau which is a large upland wilderness between the Vatnajökull ice cap and the eastern fjords with no routes and easy access.
