Cold bum..

Found this down feather.....

Had a mental image (like I do...) of a young bird with a cold draft up his nether region having lost this fluffy item...but I guess they're discarded deliberately...

Interesting how the structure is way different from the conventional "flight" feathers with their hooked, interlocking edges.. (well I thought so anyway...).
