Color on a Stem

Goldenrod are found by the thousands in the ditches along the roadsides. Today I gathered a sackful and prepared them for dyeing wool yarn. The flower heads make a beautiful yellow, and the stems and leaves a yellowish green. They are just beginning to bloom, so the color is brighter than if cut later.
