German education

I got a crash course on the local education system last night, linked to Dr D's No 2 daughter (16 years old) finishing Realschule last week.

The system seems more user friendly to the kids than the Scottish one, and looks like it produces results.

As said daughter has b+ggered off to Spain on a bus holiday, I had to provide moral support to register her for the next stage - Staatliche Fachoberschule.

So we stood in a queue for 30 minutes.

Then it was the supermarket, ostensibly to buy beer & dinner for me. That became 5 shops in the mall (one of them 3 times) and a 2nd trip to the supermarket (after we'd got halfway back to the house) as something hadn't been on the list.

I've had better afternoons.
