Green Man Day Pilton, Barnstaple

Green Man Day or Pilton Festival is a celebration every July with a play in which the Green Man, as ancient pagan fertility figure, meets the Prior and is subsequently incorporated into the Christian church. It’s revival of an ancient fair with its origins in medieval times.
