Blautopf

We had a trip to Blaubeuren today to meet with some friends. There we went to see the Blautopf which is a spring fed by a huge cave system. The lake is funnel shaped and about 21m deep. At the bottem cave divers can squeeze themselves into the cave system which opens up to huge domes and underground lakes. I didn't realise that they recently also found a dry entrance which does not involve diving. It's a truly amazing place. We also visited the smithy and the monastery. A great day out!
