Fields Of Barley

A glorious sunny day. I took a cycle ride this afternoon along the bottom of Cademuir, Peebles. The fields of barley are just starting to turn from green to yellow. The long whiskers on their heads gently rustled in the breeze. Another highlight of the day was watching a spotted fly catcher in the garden. It flitted from the branches to catch insects which it was storing in its beak - I imagine it must have young it is feeding. The sun shone until it went down over the hills and cast a warm orange glow over the fields and through the leaves. Time to be cherished.
