Ginger

Most members of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae, are tropical plants, not winter hardy in the UK. The genus Roscoea grow in much colder mountainous regions and provide some interesting garden plants. Roscoea cautleyoides is perhaps the most commonly grown, producing a succession of these curious, creamy yellow flowers.
