Côte de Manchester Ship Canal....

While our place is to actually on the Manchester Ship Canal, nowhere in Manchester is too far from it. So I was sat in the cool of our sitting room and noticed that part of the vine outside the window was heavy with grapes again. We must be, at the moment, on the very northern edge of where grapes will flourish. I know there's a vineyard near Chester and another on the edge of Sheffield. Our vine is a bit hit and miss. If the summer is right it will produce a crop of tasty, green grapes. But if the weather doesn't suit it won't. It was good last year and it seems to be doing well again. 2014 could be a vintage year....
