And relax.....
This is my second back blip, owing to non existent wifi and useless 4G signal strength!
After breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, we took a quick turn round the village to buy some toothpaste. It was incredibly humid and I was dripping with sweat. Yuck. The ladies got changed for their wedding and I waved them off. Then C arrived about 15 minutes later.
We drove down to St Margaret's Bay and enjoyed a drink and catch up on the terrace of the Coastguard pub, though we were too late for lunch. We contemplated the calm sea and watched the ferries heading to France and a couple of kayakers. St Margaret's Bay is the nearest point to France in England and the channel swimmers often start from here. No swimmers today though. We could see France over the water too.
We then went to the national trust base on the White Cliffs for tea and flapjack and then went to Folkestone for a look at the harbour (blipped) and tried to have dinner but the restaurant that had been highly recommended was booked out so we went back to the Coastguard in the bay and enjoyed super whitebait and fish and chips. Scrumptious. We gave a couple of ladies a lift back to the village as it was raining by 10pm and it's a longish (and steep!) walk.
C went back to Canterbury and I had a welcome shower and chilled, reading, trying to blip :( and then got back in the car at midnight to collect S and A. They were hilarious. Very merry, still looking glam though rather dishevelled and clutching each other and giggling as they weaved towards me! Still no-one was sick and we had a nice chat when we got in and got to bed around 1.30am again....
