Walls Come Tumbling Down
Cigs / TwT crossover....
Boys were up 7; a decent hour for a change. Think their recent high tempo holidays have left them in need of a couple of low key days, so it's been good to just..drift? for a day or two.
We washed the car, wandered to Morrisons and then up to Shrubhill en route to play date with G to do the Cigs tag of the day - it's odd how inspiring I find wasteland and twisted piles of concrete and metal.
We met up, went to the allotment and planted seeds, picked courgette and the drizzle intensified a bit, so we high tailed it to Craigleith to become the model modern nuclear affected family and bought jackets and trainers; I felt so disappointed in myself, but - what do you do?
Back to mine, lunch ish and they played, we chatted, and then dropped boys home (with the obligatory disparaging remarks in front of them from her; so saddening) and then up to town to drop them off.
Home, tidied, packed for tomorrow, and then - fell asleep during TdF highlights?
Out at 9.45 for wine, then Shrubhill proved too much to ignore; had a really good roam around and eventually via Abercrombie Place on a Cigs tip off and half an hour people watching on Princes Street as the punters from the Castle Concert drifted down the hill - always good when you're fighting the tide, especially when it's humanity. Makes me feel better going against the grain?
Couple of glasses of wine, deep chat and was home to sleep by 1.30....
