Life in Sunny Dubai

Albury Produce Show

It's the weekend! And Guilfest is in full swing though we have only driven past Stoke Park and seen lots of tents set up, one of them in the shape of a VW combi van!

Popped into Argos and Homebase to get some things for the Lodge. When we first got it, it was meant for rentals so we were told not to personalise it too much. We long gave up on that idea and now definitely want to put our stamp on it.

There is quite a lot happening locally and today, from 2-5pm we enjoyed walking around the Albury Produce Show. Most interesting! I loved seeing the flower displays and home grown vegetables! The Halsemere Brass Band were there as were a Morris dancing group who have been going since 1926 (not the current members I hasten to add). Large is good. The hog roast was a real sight. Something I would never see in Dubai. And right at the end, visiting the book stall where G found two old copies of CS Lewis books, we met the local vicar and his wife! Looking forward to their Tent Service tomorrow.

Sadly we missed the Barn Dance, but Albury have their own music fest tomorrow afternoon, on the same site, so no doubt, we'll pop down to that.
