I am the egg man.
This tiny, charming gentleman sold me some beautiful fresh eggs at the market this morning and agreed smilingly to a photo. After the market a unilateral decision by our satnav took us on a hugely scenic route through tiny roads in the Eastern Pyrenees. We ended up at a tiny bar run by a Belgian woman who'd been married to an Irishman called O'Hara and who showed us the way to a ruined Cathar castle nearby. Steep climbs to the castle were worth it for the view.
Then on to Perpignan for some food and a wander before heading back to Carcassone on a slightly less scenic route to a lizard waiting for release from the sink. More market shots, lizards et al here if you're interested.
