Thistles in decline

Sadly past their best but still have a certain charm I think. Yesterday was a very busy day - morning and lunch with friends then home to a grumpy husband! The only way to cheer him up was to take him out for tea and cake - of course I had to indulge too - has to be done... It seemed to do the trick and we went out for dinner in the evening too. Luckily we got back just before the storm broke. It was unbelievably violent for about an hour, then died down until 2ish when we had round 2. As sleep was impossible I sat up and watched the lightning light up the sky and sea. Today has been much quieter all round-just gardening, reading and walking.
