Voy a pasear

Madrid is a large city, but somehow it seems like you can walk everywhere. At least, I walk everywhere. I love the wide, tree lined avenues like the Paseo del Prado o castellana. When I struck out this morning at what I deemed to be a late hour (8:00)I seemed to be the only one out and about. I had the streets to myself for a couple of hours. Well, in fairness there were people struggling to find their way home after long nights out. I enjoyed wandering around and ended up in the parque retiro, madrid's equivalent to Central Park, before going to the Museo de Prado. It has been a real treat to spend time in Madrid- a totally different experience from the camino. I leave tomorrow for the states and am so looking forward to the joys being home brings :)
