Mountain goat

I love these mountain goats, they are so unusual, and well adapted to the high altitude environment in which they live. We were lucky to see this one when we climbed Mt Evans from Summit Lake. It is only a short walk, but at around 13 000 and 14 000 feet, the hike was a lot harder than at sea level.

Just before we saw the goat, I photographed some hair caught on a rock. As you can see, the goats do not look their best this time of year when they are still shedding their winter coat.

PS I'm up to date now, posted last two days blips after we got back yesterday.
