masonry repair

This is a detail on an old sandstone pillar, which has been repaired with a plug.
I have a lot of respect for those few artisans keeping this kind of craft alive in a disposable age.
It’s quite high up (about 7’ in old money) so I’m not sure what once penetrated the stone where the repair is, maybe high railings?

This was just a quick test shot on the iphone, the hassy version took a bit longer to set up!
