Disturbed night

Yesterday I found a really interesting website called lightningmaps. With the storms forecast last night it was fascinating watching the storms build up in real time and move across Europe.

I decided to try to catch some lightning and set my tripod up looking out of the patio door before we went to bed so it was ready if we had a storm. The storm arrived at 4am and I set the camera doing serial 30 second exposures.

Unfortunately most of the lightning occurred the other side of the house but this one was nice although not as spectacular as this. It started getting light soon afterwards so I had to go back to bed.
