Xanadu
Hi everyone, hubbie's birthday is coming up in the next few days when we will both be back at work, so we decided to treat ourselves to a nice leisurely lunch at Xanadu Winery, Margaret River, today.
Lightening, thunder and rain rolled through but we were warm and cosy in their dining room.
We chose off their new winter menu which included "oolong smoked king fish" and "leeuwin grass fed beef rib". Also lots of lovely Chardonnay and Cab Sav! Nice!
"In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.
So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round:
And here were gardens bright with sinuous rills,
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;
And here were forests ancient as the hills,
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.......
...For he on honeydew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise!
Kubla Khan, Samuel Taylor Coleridge
