The Spallumcheen Valley

I took the country roads home
through the Spallumcheen
Crops are gold and ready
Some bent in the wind
Despite smoke in the air
it is still a beautiful view
overlooking the farmland
I take my paintings home
and line them up in the hallway
for reflection and discussion
I empty the trunk of my car
and settle into my recliner
for a wee nap
