Not so scared

The crows have started on the spring barley today. It happens every year but only once the grain reaches the right stage - just turning milky ,and then they attack with vigour . They can't reach the grain heads from the ground so the fly down and flatten the straw so they can reach. This was all standing at 7am and was flat by 6pm when I passed. A quick couple of scarecrows later and they went to another part of the field!Never know if its better to let them work on one bit or keep chasing them round the whole field. Shotgun is next move!
