Vicarious walking.

Thoroughly enjoying this just now. The author is walking the Ickneild Way from Dorset to Norfolk, and this describes what he sees on the way as well as delving into the history of the landscape he passes through as part of a long road back into history. Makes me want to put my boots on and get out there.
