A stroll in Nostell Priory grounds
Met a couple of friends and used our National Trust membership for the first time this year. We were hoping for a gentle stroll, with the house to look round if things got wet. Happily the morning rain cleared and we managed both during the afternoon - the grounds were looking lovely, there was a wedding going on which spilled out into the rose garden, and the volunteer guides in the rooms all found things to tell us that we didn't know - an excellent visit all round ( and good cake! )! The decor is an Adam/Chippendale combo - very ornate, but we were allowed to sit on a Chippendale chair...
Topped off by a tasty Italian meal in Wakefield afterwards - what's not to like? The only downside - my camera battery died after one shot, so only took a couple of photos with my phone...
